If the metal is up to "standard" the form of the sword and especially the handguards should make them a match for any but most massive historical blade. sword is immaculate very real to the touch and the delivery is prompt! It will hang with my other Spartan weapons with pride. Especially the handguard. Severing a 2" sapling felt like the handle was about to pop. All in all I would never recommend anyone to buy this unless to use it as a wall hanger or a movie prop because the blade is made of a cheap metal and the handle is basically leather and glue. they are beautiful. Also be careful of the plate at the end of the pommel, it can come off is one has too much vibration from hitting an object. The only issue i have is the leather wrap on the handle will shift from where it is originally and come loose, but it is not that critical. It chopped through a 3 sapling with one stroke. I can't Understand why they would put such a Crappy Handle on a great blade When I got it, the Handle yes it will cut through nails, flesh, bone and put a good chip in a solid hunk of steel or another sword for that matter. I Bought my 300 spartan sword some time back from Budk and i love it, well made and yes its heavy but great. I enjoy walking around with it attached to my pants. I took it as a challenge. But it did finely break. Mostly full tang, except at the end where there's threaded rod for the nut.
